Great Line From a CPA for You To Copy
Imagine being able to look any client, experiencing any problem, in the eyes and saying to them, “Do you finally want to do something about this issue? Because if you do, I have the team that can help.”
We were in a meeting the other day, and a CPA told us that forming a partnership with an advisor in our training community and leveraging our virtual family office was the most powerful thing they've ever done in business.
After years of not having answers for successful clients experiencing hefty tax and business problems, he can finally look them in the eyes and ask them if they would like to do something about their issues because his team can help.
He said it was hard to put into words how big of a difference this made for him and his confidence in working with new clients. In this video, I go into more detail on the story and share a few suggestions on how you can replicate that same experience. Hope you enjoy it!

Great video Anton, so true. Love the dogfight analogy and would agree that it's the most under utilized bubble in a VFO concept, from what I've seen. Always bringing value for the advocates that remain in the washed up financial industry, keep it up!

@@ginalowe9103our company is made up of multiple accountants, attorneys, CFPs, agents, etc. In regards to your question, are you saying you have $2.5m AUM and you're asking if that's "enough" to be a family office?
Yes that is what I’m asking.
@@ginalowe9103 good question. A Family Office or Virtual Family Office isn't required to offer AUM as a service, or have any specific level of AUM. It's more about an ability to offer a multi disciplinary planning experience to clients. We typically suggest advisors partner w/ accountants to form a "proactive planning team" and the leverage other experts in tax, insurance, wealth, legal, and business advisory. Does that help?

I wouldn't suggest starting with a designation. Rather, start with what you want to be doing within the industry, then figure out who has already done that. Get as close to them as you can.

We are a retired couple in our 60s with no debt, no major expenses and plenty of savings in taxable retirement funds. Say we need $100k to purchase a house beyond the cash from the sale of our old house. One option would be to take out a $100k mortgage and keep our income in the 12% federal income tax bracket. Paying as much towards principal as we can each year. The other option would be to take $100k from retirement funds, so no debt, but our 2023 federal income tax bracket would likely rise to 24%. What type of professional would be best to advice us? Thanks.
Interesting question. I think there's another version of that question...rather than "what type" is best (which somewhat suggests 1) I would suggest you think of "what team" is best. Have you seen another of our other videos on Collaboration and proactive planning teams?
